Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Amy was raised in Bloomington, IN, and discovered her passion for drawing at an early age.

She pursued her love for art in college and later taught art at a junior college in Singapore as part of the Princeton in Asia fellowship program. After spending time in San Francisco, Amy eventually settled in Chicago where she currently resides.

Amy's creative process is rooted in her formal training in traditional drawing and painting, which she blends with fluid, intuitive mark-making. She finds inspiration in landscapes, waterscapes, and the principles of abstract expressionism and Japanese minimalism. Her pieces incorporate a range of materials including acrylic paint, graphite and oil pastels. When she's not painting, Amy applies her design sensibilities to her work as a product designer.

She earned her degree in Studio Art from Connecticut College, where she studied under the collagist Maureen McCabe and the late, celebrated American artist Barkley Hendricks.
